The Impact of Green Initiatives on
Courier and Transportation Operations
Incorporating sustainable practices into your business operations can be a game-changer, not just for the environment but also for your company. A greener approach can help reduce your carbon footprint, align your business with global sustainability goals, enhance your reputation, and increase cost savings. It can also create opportunities for collaboration and networking with other organisations and position your company as a leader in the industry. By investing in eco-friendly operations, you can pave the way for a sustainable and successful future while contributing to a healthier planet.

Key findings from the COURIERS GO GREEN survey:
1. Almost 75% of respondents have a general knowledge of the EU policy on the green transition of transport & logistics. Still, there is a gap in transferring policy from the EU to the national level.
2. The majority of respondents find the implementation of a green policy for transport & logistics to be very important and necessary for achieving sustainability in operations.
3. The main obstacles towards green transition for courier/postal/delivery service organisations include the age and condition of fleets, low adoption of “green” fuels and zero-carbon vehicles, and insufficient strategic planning and know-how for monitoring and management.
4. Out of the participating organisations, approximately 30% do not have a green transition strategy, 50% do not have a green transition training scheme for employees, and 60% do not have a certification scheme for “green” skills.
